EARLY MORNING VISIT TO NEW KILCULLEN SCULPTURE Mon 21st April 2008 |
| |
| A sculpture created by local artist Noel Scullion was the focus for a small group of people one early morning recently when they gathered at the site in the Dun Ailinne Interpretive Park to watch the rising sun shining through a hole in the structure. The granite piece is based on a javelin head found in the hill of Dun Ailinne some thirty years ago. It is to have its official unveiling in July, a ceremony which will be attended by Professor Bernard Wailes of the University of Pennsylvania, the archaeologist who carried out the excavations at the site.
