FILM TO RECORD CURRAGH TRAINER'S VICTORY Fri 19th Oct 2007 |
| |
| A film is to be made based on the winning of the Melbourne Cup five years ago by the horse trained by Dermot Weld, and an Australian film crew has spent two weeks shooting scenes at the Curragh. The need to film at the Curragh at this time was in order to capture scenes of the old grandstand before it is replaced. Australia's biggest race was won by Weld's horse Media Puzzle, ridden by jockey Damien Oliver, and filming is due to continue next March, with the film to be released in time for next year's race. One of the names being mentioned to play the trainer is Pierce Brosnan. |
