"DO THE LOTTO", GARDAI TELL LUCKY ESCAPE MAN Mon 9th July 2007 |
| |
| An unnamed man who chose as his bed for the night the railway track just outside Athy was advised by gardai to do the Lotto, since it seemed that luck was on his side. At around eleven o'clock one evening last week the homeless man lay down on the track at Grangemellon Bridge between Athy and Carlow, and it was first reported that a freight train had run over the top of him without harming him. However Iarnród Éireann has said that the driver of the freight train had been warned of the 'obstacle' on the track and had come to a halt before reaching him. |
